It is customary that every Independence Day members of the Christ Tabernacle New Testament Church of God - Choiseul look forward to welcoming new members into the Church's family. This year due to circumstances beyond Church's control the ceremony - Baptism, was posponed to a later date. We are pleased to announce that all is in place and the ceremony will be taking place today March 8, 2015, at the Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie at about 11:00 am.

After following our church's doctrine for over six months and undergoing various teachings, three persons have finally made up their mind to follow Jesus.
Sister Ursula, an elder in the Church has been preparing the persons for this bold and serious christian step. Only yesterday she had a lenghty session at the Church with one of the prospective members.

Why do we have to be completely covered by water when we are baptized? God chose immersion in water because it is a very powerful way of showing us that our sins must be forgiven. Believers realise that they need saving from sin and require God's grace. They go under the water in baptism, and die to an old way of life. They come up out of the water to a new life. In baptism, believers identify with the death of Jesus Christ, who died for us. Just as Jesus rose from the dead, they also rise from the waters of baptism to "set out on a new life" (Romans 6:4). Now, believers are God's children, and they desire to please Him. If they do so, He will give them His great gift of everlasting Life. This will happen when Jesus comes to rule the world (Luke 1:32,33). No wonder Jesus regarded baptism as being so important.

The program for today will probably take such a format: 
9:30 am - 10:00am - Sunday school, 
10:05am - 10:45am - Worship service,
8aptism - 11;00am - 12;00 noon. 
12:30pm - 3:30pm - Lunch, testimonies by new converts, entertainment using dance, songs and skits and we close with prayers.
